Profiles - Alastair Nelson

Alastair qualified in 1986 and after a year in a mixed practice he spent 18 months at a stud medicine practice in Oxfordshire and then three years in Lambourn before returning to Yorkshire in 1994.

He has Post Graduate Certificates in Veterinary Radiology and Equine Stud Medicine.

Since joining the practice he has continued his interest in stud medicine and diagnostic imaging. The practice has now built up a large referral service for lameness diagnosis and bone scanning, which are pleased to offer to any referring veterinary surgeon as well as our own clients.

Alastair is married with two young children and when not at home wit the dogs, cats and horses, has been enjoying triathlon. Unfortunately I am now able to empathise with some of my patients a lot more due to a persistent knee injury which has stopped me competing.
