An important part of Rainbow Equine Clinic are the excellent surgical facilities which has been developed under the expert eye of Bob Ordidge.

Surgery may be the main reason your horse visits Rainbow Equine Clinic if you have been referred for a specific surgical procedure such as a tieback for laryngeal paralysis or arthroscopy for treatment of a damaged joint.

Horses are anaesthetised in a knock down box before being hoisted into the operating theatre and onto the state of the art operating table where their heart rate and blood pressure can be constantly monitored

We carry out orthopaedic, respiratory tract and reproductive surgery on an elective basis. We also carry out colic surgery and joint lavage often as emergency procedures.

Following the surgery the horse is brought back to a recovery box and allowed to recover from the anaesthetic
